The PU-LLB program is for those candidates who have completed their graduation in any field and wish to pursue a career in Law. You must take the P.U. Law entrance exam to get admitted into their law program.

Background of Panjab University and its Law School

Panjab University is one of the oldest universities in India, and it was initiated at Lahore in 1882. The Department of Law was established in Lahore in 1889 and was finally relocated to the university campus in Chandigarh in 1959.

Eligibility Criteria - 

  1. Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree or master's degree from Punjab University University or any other university that the Bar Council of India and Punjab University recognize.
  2. Candidates in the general category should have secured at least 45% marks, and those from a Scheduled caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Backward Class / Persons with Disability need to have at least 40% marks in the qualifying degree.

To promote practical training, a full paper of the 6th Semester is dedicated to Moot Courts. Students must participate in moot courts and court visits, which are compulsory. The university also has a separate Moot Court Hall where various Seminars, Presentations, and competitions are held annually.

The campus is massive, covering almost 550 acres.
